Staying at the Inn in the time of COVID-19

It is very important that both guests and community members stay safe as the pandemic continues.  I have been working closely with Sierra County Health and Human Services to develop a plan tailored to the Inn and its community.  Beyond the obvious increased handwashing and social distancing we are implementing the following changes:

  •  1 guest group in the kitchen or library at a time

  •  Rinse all dishes and put them in the dishwasher as soon as you are finished cooking so the next party can safely move in.  No handwashing of dishes, everything must go through the dishwasher please.

  • Bring blankets with you for snuggling on the couch or adding an extra layer to your bed.  We are not allowed to have any extra linens in rooms or shared spaces

  • When in public spaces off the Inn property please wear a mask (ideally one you bring with you!  Although Inn does have disposables available), even if the locals are not.  If you see others while out recreating please give them a wide berth.  There is still some sensitivity in the community.

  • Do not try to check in before 4PM or check out later than 11AM.  It is critical that housekeepers have enough time to air out and then clean rooms between stays without feeling pressured to rush.  Please leave your key in the outside of your room door at check out and if possible leave door and one window open so the room can begin to air out.

  • If you use a book or board game please take it back to your room and leave it there at check out so we can sanitize it before the next use

What Staff is doing

  • Increased between stay housekeeping

  • 3 scheduled rounds of sanitation of common areas daily

  • ·Restricting entry to Inn to only registered guests

  • Using cleaning products and methods advised by the State

A Little P.S. from the Environment

Operating during Covid is not very green.  In an effort to mitigate the waste the Inn is taking the following steps:

  • Maintaining 3 sanitation stations around the Inn with bleach water and clean towels to avoid overuse of disposable Clorox Wipes

  • Removing all extra blankets from rooms as anything available to guests has to be washed between every stay, whether it has been used or not

  • Asking guests to bring their own masks with them to avoid using disposables

  • If guests order food from the onsite restaurant Drifters Table they can ask for food to be plated to be taken back to the room rather than having disposable takeout containers.  Onsite and patio dining are also available.
